To check if you need a study visa, we recommend following the procedure on the website: https://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home/en
Once you've verified that you need a student visa for your stay in Italy, you can apply using our school's documents.
We provide you with this short guide that indicates the steps to obtain the visa:
How to Apply:
PREPARE THE DOCUMENTATION:
-
Acceptance letter from the Bertrand Russell Italian School.
-
Documentation on the Italian language course you intend to take at the Institute.
-
Proof of accommodation in Italy.
-
Round-trip flight ticket.
-
Take out health insurance for the duration of your trip (we recommend WAI ITALY insurance ).
-
Fill out the visa application form.
-
Proof of financial availability, equal to at least 950 euros for each month of stay in Italy.
-
Make sure your documents (passport and identity card) are valid throughout your stay abroad.
-
Have 4 updated passport-sized photos with you.
-
Demonstrate continuity in your studies (having already studied Italian in your home country will facilitate approval of your student visa application).
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT:
Once all your documents are ready, all you have to do is request an appointment at the Italian Embassy or Consulate General in your country closest to where you live.
The application must be submitted at least 90 days before the start of the course because it can take a long time to obtain an appointment, and the evaluation process can take several weeks.
We also recommend contacting the relevant Embassy or Consulate to verify the documents required to submit the application and to check the appointment request procedure (this may vary from country to country).
WAIT FOR AN OUTCOME:
The waiting time varies, but is typically 2 to 6 weeks. If the visa is approved, it will be stamped on your passport.
DETAILS TO NOTE:
Submitting all the documents does not automatically guarantee that a visa will be issued.
If the visa is denied, the school will refund the unused months, i.e. months exceeding the duration of the tourist visa, ONLY if the reason for the denial goes beyond the 10 points required for a compliant visa application. This amount will be refunded minus €100 for administrative fees.
Submitting an incorrect application does not guarantee a refund.
The school also guarantees the possibility of enjoying the paid course at any time, even at different times, over the course of years.
